The Officer and the Southerner, Updates

Release date for The Officer and the Southerner?

I’ve had a few emails asking about a possible release date for The Officer and the Southerner. The simple truth is, I don’t know.

I like to have all the stores to have the book posted for sale before I announce that it’s released.

Last time, I had to break this rule. After waiting nearly two weeks for Apple (iBooks) to make the book available, the day I’d said was to be the release day was upon us and I had no choice but to submit it to the other stores. Then, I had to make an announcement that it was available everywhere except at Apple. I don’t like to do that. I have a good number of readers who get their books from Apple and I don’t think it’s fair to ask them to either get it somewhere else or just to keep waiting.

I submitted it to iBooks (Apple) last week and if history repeats itself it’ll be about another two weeks *fingers crossed*. I’d REALLY like to say it’ll be out and available in August, but it’s just out of my control.

So, until then if you’re just super antsy, you can do one (or more) of the following:

Like ME  ( as in Rose Gordon–historical romance author) or rather my page on Facebook where I’ve been posting 75-125 word excerpts.

Like Parchment & Plume (the publishing company I’ve started) on Facebook where I’ve again been posting a different set of excerpts.

Sign up for my new release mailing list. A note on this, it’ll say the exact same thing that I usually post here when a new book is up. The only difference is that I send these emails out anywhere from 12 to 36 hours before I post here that a new book is up.

And just in case you’ve forgotten what this upcoming book is about, I have written a new (extended!) description for it!

Red Beauty

Second Lt. Jack Walker doesn’t always think ahead and when he decides to defy logic and send off for a mail order bride, he might have left out only a few details about his life at the all-but-forgotten Fort Gibson…

Upon arrival at a forsaken military fort in the middle of Indian Territory, Ella Davis learns Jack’s situation isn’t quite what she’s believed from his letters and while hoping to avoid such a fate, she’s been made the fool again. Unfortunately, this time she can’t run and hide from the man who’s done her wrong, but neither is she convinced their marriage will be the same one she’d envisioned for them…

Now it’s up to Jack to find a way to show his always skeptical bride that he is indeed trustworthy and that despite what she might believe she does belong somewhere in the world: right there, with him.

  1. Okay. It’s on iBooks. Since I don’t buy books from there, how soon until I can buy it from either Smashwords or amazon? Pretty please make it soon. I really want to find out what happens next.
